Coach Education

Racquetball Ireland in conjunction with Sport Ireland Coaching are working together to ensure that those wishing to coach the sport of racquetball in Ireland are provided with the necessary training and support.

Racquetball Ireland are at the start of a process to design a 'Racquetball Ireland: Level 1' Coaching course, the next step of the coaching ladder for those wishing to coach at clubs and county level. In due process, a Level 1 course will be designed and aimed at coaches wishing to coach at Club and County level.
Coaching Process/System:
  1. Racquetball Ireland Foundaton Course (on offer)
  2. Racquetball Ireland Level 1 Coaching Course (currently unavailable)
  3. Racquetball Ireland Level 2 Coaching Course (currently unavailable)

Racquetball Ireland Foundation Level Coaching

 Who is it for?
 This course is on offer to clubs and individuals wishing to start take the first step on the coaching ladder.
 It will give participants a basic knowledge of the coaching process and the fundamentals of racquetball.
 Delivery:
 Run by a Racquetball Ireland Qualified tutor.
 Course Duration: 1-day.
 Cost: 20€ per person
Accreditation:
The Foundation Level Course is approved by Coaching Ireland.

Sport Ireland: Online Coaching Children Introduction course

Sport Ireland offer a 1-hour online Coaching Children Introduction Course, that we recommend coaches at all levels to complete or anyone working with children.
Participants receive a certificate on completion.

Code of Ethics - Safeguarding Children in Sport

The Code of Ethics Awareness Workshops (Safeguarding 1/2/3) are accredited by Sport Ireland and run by Local Sports  Partnerships (LSP’s) in the Rep. of Ireland. 
 
 


Basic Awareness Workshops
  •  Sport Ireland: Safeguarding 1 - Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course
 All Coaches, Children’s Officers and Designated Liaison Persons (DLP) must first complete the 3 hour Child Welfare &      Protection Basic Awareness Course.  This course educates participants on the implementation of best practice in protecting the welfare of children involved in sport.

Advanced Workshops
  • Sport Ireland: Safeguarding 2 - Club Children's Officer (C.C.O)
A person appointed to the Club Children's Officer position in a club must have completed Safeguarding 1 - Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course and should complete Safeguarding 2.
  • Sport Ireland - Designated Liaison Person (Safeguarding 3)
A person appointed to the Designated Liaison Person position in a club must have completed the Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course and should complete the  Designated Liaison Person workshop. A club may appoint the same person to both the CCO and DLP positions however best practice advises that they are kept as separate roles.
 
All coaches, volunteers and parents working with children in a sports setting are encouraged to attend the Basic Awareness Workshops. The Advanced Workshops are for members taking on the Club Children’s Officer or the Designated Liaison Person positions.

Code of Ethics Safe Sport App
