Aisling Hickey wins Women's title. Joe Kelley from the USA and Aisling Hickey from the Rossmore club in Co Tipperary were the winners of the Open Singles divisions at the Fermoy Open last weekend. Kelley defeated local athlete Johnny O'Keeney in the Men's Singles Final by 3 games to 1 while Aisling won her final against Antonia Neary of Arklow by a similar score line. Aisling later teamed up with Antonia to win the Women's Doubles. Club mates of Aisling, James Ryan and Stevie Quinn won the Men's Doubles with a 3-0 victory over Kelley and Scott Young of Arklow. Paul Hynes(Araglen) made a successful return to racquetball at the weekend by winning the CD Singles defeating Elliot Young of Arklow 3-1 in the final. The long wait for promotion for Ray Keogh(Tullaroan) ended when he won the Men's Novice Singles. Ray will play in future tournaments as D player. Full Results
The Racquetball Association of Ireland has unveiled it's Strategic Plan 2023-2027 for the sport. Six new pillars have been announced and will be the focus of the Racquetball Association of Ireland for the next five years: 1. Organisation & Governance 2. Promotion & Marketing 3. High Level Performance & International Our vision is to continue to develop and enhance the profile of Irish racquetball nationally and internationally while having an effective governance structure, successful provincial council branches and a successful club development program.
